Purpose of Position:
Under general supervision, this position is responsible for the day to day requirements for the Corporate & Division payrolls as well as provide support to the various Divisions regarding payroll policy as well as creating accurate and timely reports along with other duties in support of the Payroll Department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Train all new Users on Payroll program
  • Set up payroll contacts with third-party service provider
  • Assist Divisions with various calculations
  • Input Overtime and Adjustments
  • Set-up CORP new hires, input rate changes, terminations
  • Set-up pay periods in Payroll program for divisions
  • Set-up Garnishments for all divisions
  • Supply new hires employee numbers for each Division
  • Set up Payroll program security for users company wide
  • Set-up new Payroll codes for network version software company wide
  • Transfer employees among all Divisions
  • Process Bonuses all locations
  • Write manual cheques
  • Process Profit Sharing
  • Create reports divisional
  • Transmit payroll for all divisions
  • Create pensionable earning reports in Payroll program
  • Verify employee information correct on T4/T4A reports-make necessary corrections
  • Verify taxable benefits
  • Input manual cheques, adjustments etc.
  • Balance taxes, WSIB, EHT
  • Review T4/T4A Reports from third-party service party for accuracy
  • Calculate taxable benefit re: company cars
  • Complete T2200 forms, GST forms re: Car allowances
  • Adjust taxes to reflect on T4A's

** Knowledge of pension administration and benefit administration would be an asset !

Education and Experience:

  • 3 to 5 years of payroll experience
  • CPA Certified
  • Previous experience using third-party service provider Payroll program
